Hey all, new to the forum here. Last week a fellow motorist decided he wanted me to get a new vehicle by smashing into my Bronco Badlands. My local dealer has both a '24 Badlands and a SG Ranger Raptor they are selling (with no ADM to boot). Curious if anyone here has gone from a Bronco to the RR. If so, do you have any pros, cons, regrets, rejoices, etc. to share?

Thanks for any input!

I think there is several of us Ranger Raptor owners around here that have had Bronco's or still have Bronco's.

I did sort of; I still have my Bronco.

The used market on the Bronco's got really soft in recent months, so I decided to keep it.
But my original plan was to replace it with the Ranger Raptor.

I would say the most noticeable difference aside from one being a truck with a bed and the other being an SUV, would be just how quiet the RR is compared to the Bronco. My Bronco is a 2dr Badlands with the SAS pkg.

The big pro's I feel are ride comfort, seat comfort, on road handling, overall, I really do prefer driving my RR but the Bronco is still a really fun vehicle.
The Ranger Raptor just checks a lot more boxes for me.

I traded a 2023 4 door manual Bronco Heritage on my RR. cc1999 pretty much nailed it. I thought my Bronco was a great vehicle, but the RR is pretty much superior in every category.

I don't think anybody buys these for gas mileage, but I'm getting 3-4 MPG better than I did in my Bronco.

I do miss the manual though.

Very cool fleet. Is your Bronco the manual or auto? I'd be coming from a 4dr Badlands with the 2.3L and stick. I'm hung up on whether the RR would be a big enough upgrade in the "smiles per gallon" department to offset the loss of rowing gears. I test drove a 2.7L 4dr Badlands yesterday and while it had more power, the lack of engagement made me feel like I was just driving a boxier F-150.

That's what I'm hung up on, but I would want to do a custom order and get exactly what I want... don't want to be without a car for that long though.

Thanks!
My Bronco has the 2.7L with the 10 speed Auto.

For me, I really don't mind rowing gears, but I do find it gets old rather quickly. Could be just me getting older too. LOL

I find the RR to be one of the more fun driving vehicles I have ever owned.
It has really tight steering, and an excellent well dialed in suspension under it, making it feel very sporty for a truck. To me because of those things I think the RR has a somewhat European sporty feel to it.

Thats a lot of trucks.
Yea, I am admittedly a truck junkie.
There is also another three Diesel HDs trucks out in the stable as well. LOL

Aero dynamics improve mpg and reduces wind noise. The Bronco can be turned into a true rock crawler, but if thats not your thing I prefer the Ranger.

I know your question wasn't specific to the Bronco Raptor, but I have the RR and my wife has the Bronco Raptor. The RR is sportier to drive and a blast to drive fast on trails. BR is definitely a more plush ride and better for rock crawling, it also has a surprisingly amazing turning radius. My wife had an 82 Bronco in high school and comments on the difference all the time. The RR has more room for trips with the bed. The trunk of the Bronco is pretty limited. You can tow 1,000 lbs more with the Ranger if that is a factor. Back seat is roomier in the Bronco. Both are super fun and glad we don't have to decide. The value factor on the Ranger could be a huge factor. Waiting on my R to arrive, then will use the Ranger as a daily driver, or solo missions to mountains.

Just traded my Bronco Raptor for the Ranger Raptor. The Ranger Raptor is much nicer to drive on the highway with it having a lot less wind noise. Bronco Raptor is impressive, but the Ranger Raptor seems more refined and a huge value when compared to the Bronco Raptor. I will get a lot more use out of the truck bed.

We sold our ‘23 Bronco Badlands Sasquatch 2.7 on May 2 and picked up the Ranger Raptor a week later. Best description for me, I liked the Bronco, I love the RR. RR has a better ride, longer wheelbase helps. We tow a small travel trailer, about 3500 pounds, and there’s no comparison, RR has built in trailer brake controller and the electronic trailer ball locater. Our Bronco was very well optioned out, but RR has the adjustable steering, adjustable suspension and the adjustable exhaust pipes, yes decent sounding pipes at the push of a button! Back to the towing, the Bronco on long mountain grades heated up, engine oil temperature up to almost 260 and that was with outside temperature about 65. RR on same grades in WAY warmer 100-109 temperatures about 238 max And that was with the A/C on.The RR feels like it has 200 more HP rather than the 90 ? listed. You can choose what speed you want to go up tha mountain towing with the Raptor, not the Bronco, it heats up more than I want to look at.
Gas mileage is similar with a tiny and I mean tiny
nod to the RR. Our Bronco was actually more expensive than the RR, Raptor has SO much more in standard equipment, seats are better and that suspension is SO smooth. RR is quieter with less wind noise.
I know the Bronco was better rock climbing with more clearance and the sway bar disconnect, but I don’t do that often anyway with those damn expensive vehicles. Bronco had rock sliders, they’re great in some situations, but they don’t protect from paint rock chips from the 35’s, we had several when we sold. The RR has those steps, some don’t like them, but way less in rocks and other debris being thrown up. I guess we’ve been fortunate to be able to have had both after lifetimes of work and I feel that for my needs now the RR will be a keeper, it feels special. Good luck in your decision, maybe you can test drive both.

Traded my 2023 2Dr Bronco on the Ranger Raptor.

I didn't hate the Bronco, but it took so long to get built (32 months) that the Ranger Raptor had been announced that it was coming to N.A, so I modified my Bronco order and got on my local Dealers Ranger Raptor waiting list (was #1 but got bumped to #2).

It arrived last week and I just got back from taking it on a 3400 mile trip to visit Family.
It performed flawlessly and averaged 17 mpg doing 75mph to 85mph on the interstate without a bed-cover and on premium gas.

Addendum, another thought on the Bronco vs RR, windshields, way more chances of replacing/chips on the Bronco.
