I purchased a set of RR7 wheels and the V1 protection rings (not actual beadlock rings) Going to be getting the tires installed next week. My question is can the rings be mounted before installing the tires? My thinking is that the wheel should be balanced with the rings on. If I can put the rings on before tires that will save me a trip to the shop. If you have a similar setup how did you go about getting it installed?

Typically the tires are mounted without the rings on, then the tire shop installs the rings prior to balancing. That is correct, you should balance the tires with the rings on.

Tire shops should be fully capable and knowledgeable about working with this type of wheel.
‘They should be able to do everything I mentioned .

Remove the Rings
‘Mount the tires
Re-install the rings
Balance the tires
Then installed the balanced tires on the truck.
Relearn the TPMS positions or new sensors if your changing sensors too.

I had RRW wheels for a while and installed the billet rings awhile after tires were mounted and balanced. I did not notice any difference after I installed them.

I would always take them off before removing or installing tires, I got lazy and didn't take a couple of mine of and discount tire put a few gouges in the rings.
