Not really, a similar spec'd Tacoma is $48,970 in the US.

In Canada, the TRD Pro is $80k and the Trailhunter is $86K.

The worst part is that Canadians are getting destroyed when it comes to Ranger Raptor pricing. In the US, a Raptor is what, about $3-4K more than a loaded Lariat 2.7? Here in Canada, a Raptor is $18-20K more than a loaded Lariat.
I don’t know why Ranger Raptors are so much more expensive in Canada. My guess would be that in the U.S most people like big full size trucks so maybe less competition from buyers with midsize trucks.

That’s what I meant. Affordable compared to the ford

Which is why I ordered a loaded Lariat.

After owning a supercharged 2nd-gen Tacoma and a stock motor but modified 3rd-gen Tacoma TRD Off-Road, I recently picked up a Ford Ranger Raptor and am preparing to sell my Tacoma. It has been have been incredibly reliable, but there is no room for two trucks.

The Raptor is a significantly more comfortable truck, with excellent handling and impressive performance—something my Tacoma just can’t match. However, there are a few things about the Raptor that I find a bit annoying, especially compared to my Tacoma.

1. **No AC in the seats**: The lack of ventilated seats is disappointing, especially in a truck of this caliber.

2. **No rear AC vents**: I’m puzzled by Ford’s decision to exclude rear AC vents in the U.S. model, especially when they’re included in other markets.

3. **Full rear bench seat**: The Raptor’s rear seat is a full bench, which lacks the flexibility of the Tacoma’s split-folding rear seats. In the Tacoma, I could raise one side to accommodate cargo while still having space for passengers—something the Raptor doesn’t offer.

4. **Lack of storage**: The Tacoma’s interior has more storage compartments and cubbies, making it better for everyday utility.

5. **Smaller fuel tank**: The Raptor has a 20-gallon fuel tank, smaller than the Tacoma’s. I wish it had a larger tank for a extended range.

6. **Smaller bed**: The Raptor's 5-foot bed is shorter than the Tacoma's 5'5" bed, which could be a dealbreaker for those who regularly haul gear or need more bed space. The upside is the raptor is wider and taller. Practical for those who need to load plywood and/or drywall in the bed.

7. **Trailer pin connector location**: The trailer pin connector on the Raptor is located under the rear bumper, which makes it less convenient than the Tacoma’s bumper-mounted connector. It’s a small thing, but one that makes hooking up a trailer more cumbersome.

Overall, the Ranger Raptor is an incredibly capable truck with impressive performance and comfort. However, in terms of practical features, the Tacoma still holds a slight edge in my opinion. The decision to switch was tough, but I’m excited to see how the Raptor handles future adventures.

@Lamia2super I'm in the same position, prepping my Tacoma to list in the spring. It's still fun to row gears but otherwise completely lifeless unless wringing it out to redline.

The only 2 upsides I miss and wish the Raptor had are a hydraulic steering rack and 60/40 seats. That's a baffling cost cut that kills the practicality of the interior for me but can't have it all I guess.
