This is a bit of an FYI post. I just read a comment from someone on here who wasn’t aware that Australia had a 5th-gen Ranger Raptor, which got me thinking that a lot of Americans probably aren’t aware that the Australian market gets more Ranger trims than the American market, since the Ranger is essentially their F-150. For the current generation, some of these trims include the Ranger Tremor and Ranger Platinum.

The 5th gen ‘Raptor’ over here was only a trim upgrade - all terrain tyres, lift and body styling was all it really was. It had the basic diesel engine and leaf spring suspension that all the other trims had. It wasn’t a proper Raptor

I disagree. I think the 5th-gen Ranger Raptor was a proper Raptor. It was more than just a trim upgrade, unlike say the the 2021 North American Ranger Tremor. It had a substantially upgraded suspension system, including a rear coilover setup, not leaf springs. It did use the fairly basic diesel engine found in the rest of the Australian Ranger lineup, but that probably just came down to market demand and Australian vehicle regulations. It was definitely more capable than any Ranger ever released in the United States up until the debut of the 2024 North American Ranger Raptor.

ROW gets all the cool Rangers. North America gets the leftovers, at best. XL and XLT still have a physical key here FFS.

Anyone else notice the grab handles on both sides? Where's MY driver side grab handle?
Well, when you're upside down at all times you just need more places to grab on to.

That too. Ford really hates the Ranger in North America 🤦‍♂️
I think the logic is that they don't want to make the Ranger too nice and risk it cannibalizing F-150 sales. But I really don't understand the logic of that. I mean, at least for me personally, Ford can make the F-150 as nice as they want and I'm still not going to buy one. But maybe I'm wrong; Maybe there are a lot of people out there cross shopping Rangers and F-150s.

I think that's the logic and I agree it doesn't make sense. The reality is they should be going after the Tacoma market. HARD. Ford has the best midsize truck in North America but they're terrified anyone will find out. I don't get it.
