woohoo!! i was just looking at the cameras for my truck and my wife's jeep.

story on the mods and truck. i love rangers. i have since i was a kid and i currently have two, this 2024 and a 2004. i remember as a kid my grandpa had rangers too. a fullsize he used with a camper on the back and later on a square nose late 80s with a shell on the back.

i always mod vehicles. it doesn't matter what, its getting mods. i like to do things to vehicles to try and improve things on them, suspension, exhaust, engine, stereo, it doesn't matter, i have no specific thing i always do. so i knew when i got the ranger i had to get rid of those stupid pop up messages on the screen when you start it. that led to searching for a forum and learnign about forscan and then seeing all the cool stuff people had done to their trucks gave me ideas on things i could do. i usually do things outside the norma since i am a racer at heart. suspension is normally slammed and huge sway bars. this truck kind of went a little that way, its lifted but has ther ear sway bar mod. i really enjoy my little ranger and am always talking to people at the gas station or stores about it.

now i jsut need a dash cam, ha ha ha. i have tried cheapie versions but they were really a let down so hopefully i get to grab one of these and can catch some cool or crazy stuff with it.

My Ranger Raptor… and I didn’t waste a second keeping it stock.

When I picked it up:

Before most people even finish their first tank of gas, I was already changing it.

Wheels and DRL headlights went on first — cleaned up the look immediately and gave it the presence it should’ve had from day one. The wheels gave the truck lighter rotational mass, and a much-needed “pop” in color to make the truck standout.

Then I went straight for the biggest move:
California → Montana → back, just to pick up a Go Fast Camper. On my way home, I spent a week fishing in Mammoth lakes, testing out the truck in muddy terrain to see its capabilities. Spoiler, it is wildly capable.

No shipping. No waiting. Just a brand new truck getting put to work on a real trip right out of the gate. That drive alone set the tone for the entire build.

Once the camper was on, I wasn’t about to let it sag or ride sloppy — Eibach rear springs went in next to handle the weight properly and keep everything dialed. This upgrade allows me to retain factory drive ability, powering through corners on-road and off-road, with no compromise. With the weight of the GFC, upgraded springs are a necessity! Here is a picture after the ride height was all dialed in.

Finished it off with a rear bed MOLLE system to keep all the gear locked in and organized. Clean, functional, no wasted space. This truck is ready to party, being a dedicated surf and camping truck.

This isn’t a “sitting in the garage” build.
It’s already done the miles, already hauling gear, already being used exactly how it should be.

Most people talk about what they’re *going* to build.
I just built it. Now it’s time to use it exactly how it was meant to be used.

Wolfbox setup would fit this truck perfectly — more visibility, more capability, and ready for wherever the next trip goes. Hope to add some Wolfbox spice to this truck soon!
