Here are some pictures with the tires. Also put one showing how close the tire is to the UCA, I have spacers arriving Monday to temporarily fix that. No I didn’t have to recalculate anything for the speedo it’s seems to be accurate still.

Wow sick! This is the information I was looking for. I just got my Lariat last week. Wanting to put 285/70/17 tires. So you are running 285/70/17 without a lift and it fits? No rubbing or anything? I can tell in the pictures the tire gets really close to UCA, If I put 0 offset rim, would it be more space? Thank you.

At the time I had no lift on it but now have the 3” leveling kit from Ranger lifts. I would recommend running the 0 offset wheels as this will give you plenty of room and prevent rubbing. With this tire you will have some rubbing on the inner wheel well lining but trimming it a bit will get rid of that

0 offset will have a lot of poke. The consensus seems to be +55 to +35 is ideal. +35 seems to be whats mostly available on the market. To get +55 you pretty much have to buy them off someone with a Raptor.

Perfect! Thank you! I’m planning to level the truck as well. Do you think that 2 inch lift will clear 285/70/17? In Rangerlifts website it states that it only can clear 32s tire tho. Also what would be the most proper way to level the truck? Beside the spacer, do I need sway bar links or any other components? I do see some lift kits come with sway bar link.

So to confirm, 275/70R/17s will fit the stock suspension and wheel of a XLT FX4 with no rubbing or clearance issues but 285s will rub a bit?

I need to know before I buy tires this week to be legal here in Germany and avoid fines since the stock tires are not snow rated(3 peak snowflake). I have a U.S. spec Ranger.

I was going for a 265/70R/17 but will go up to the 275 if there's no rubbing on stock setup.

I put 265 70r 17 General Grabber AT3s on my stock XLT FX4. Tire fits and clears everything even at full lock. But it's barely enough to get a finger in. Still, it clears everything. I wouldn't go thicker unless you use spacers or negative offset wheel.

That particular size of tire just looks more fitting on this truck. I got the same size in a Michelin X Ice for winter.
