Just got an email from Borla stating that their "true dual exhausts" for the 2.7 are now available. I guess I need to order the black chrome tips now.

Borla Performance is excited to announce the release of our Cat-Back S-type exhaust systems for the 2024-2025 Ford Ranger!

These Cat-backs are available with three different tip options; Chrome, Black Chrome and a high clearance “Rock Crawler” design with a turned down tip.

You can hear a sound demo in the video linked below, and more details are available on the product page linked at the bottom.

Nice!
Their tester was the best color too 😉

I have had Borla black chrome cat back duals on my 2021 F150 Lariat for four years. Looks absolute new. The S type sounds great.

Borla has historically used 304 stainless for their exhaust tubing; at least for the vehicles on which I've installed them. That stuff looks new for a very long time.

Yes. And mandrel-bent tubes. Great quality. Excellent warranty. Get lots of compliments with those black chrome rear duals. Was hard to find an installer near me who would put it in. Most refused unless I bought their stuff, as expected. The one I finally found said everything fit perfectly with no modifications.

Thank you Walter for imparting your knowledge of the product. I am a huge Borla fan since my younger days with Shelby. I am working with them to place my order and provide installation feedback from an old guy laying on his back. But I've been doing it for years and oh so many things with wheels.....why stop now. As long as the good Lord and the rest of the human race provides me with the strength and opportunity.......why not give it a go! I'll report back with pictures when my system arrives.

Can't wait to see that, Donnie. I am now an old guy better at buying accessories than installing. Waiting to order a 2026 Ranger Lariat optioned up. I swapped out the 2021 F150 Lariat stock shocks for Bilstein 5100s all around at 1200 miles, no lift, and what a difference. My last Ranger was a 2003 Edge Supercab with the 4.0L and have been in two F150s since. My Ranger knowledge is dated so would you mind sharing your thoughts on your Ranger and any experience with aftermarket shocks, sway bars, oil catch can, wheel well liners, cold air intakes, etc. Does not seem to be a whole lot of accessories/upgrades available for the latest Ranger right now but hopeful.

I will definitely need an update as well! Highly considering this when I hopefully pick up my Ranger late next month

As to your upgrade suggestions Walter:
I have a variety of "toys" that are specialized in their own fashion depending on where I go to play. My Ranger fulfills a specific purpose and won't see any suspension upgrades (Shelby fits that lane). It will however receive many of your suggestions once they are released, but for now, I gotta here that V6 perform. Even my wife says it's too quiet. I will keep you updated as time progresses.

After waiting and watching since March (when I took delivery of my Lariat), my order for a 2.7L dual exhaust from Borla has become a reality....well, sort of. Delivery is expected this Saturday. I will be documenting my process and procedure for y'all. This forum has been so very helpful with my modification endeavors....it's the least I can do. Stay tuned!

My Borla exhaust arrived at 11:30am and was unboxed by noon. I immediately went to work removing the OEM exhaust as I had already elevated my Ranger as you can see. I relied on my Race Ramps to raise the front end and rigged a wheel stop just for good measure. Using 2 floor jack and a pair of jack stands, I felt quite safe as always.

The Borla instructions that came with the exhaust begins with the removal of the OEM. It took about an hour to complete. You can see both systems side-by-side which really gave me a cool perspective. It's important to have the truck elevated as removing the back section requires twisting it around the rear axle. Worthy of note is that installing the back section of the Borla also required twisting it upside down in the same fashion as the removal.

By 4:00pm I was finished. The most difficult tasks was dealing with the rubber isolation hangers. Be sure to lubricate them once for removal, then again for installation.....the are a bit of a bear to work with. I was able to install the front portion by myself, but needed the wife's help twisting the back section into place and holding it while aligning the sections together. Once you get your tailpipe tips where you want them, have your partner hold them a tab bit higher while you tighten all the bolts as they will drop about an inch after all is tightened up. Start the tightening procedure with the catalytic connections first, then work towards the back insuring that all pipe sections are slid together completely before tightening the clamps.

Happy to answer any questions, but once you read the Borla instructions and take a good long look at both the OEM and Borla systems, it will become crystal clear as how to proceed. The Borla exhaust ease of installation exceeded my expectations and removal of the OEM was no biggie either. I did wake up this morning a bit sore as this 160 lb guy at 67 years young isn't quite the man he used to be, but it's projects like this that keeps me young and proud.

Haven't even checked for leaks or gotten it down off the jacks. Stay tuned as it's the Shelby's turn to get played with this weekend and next week. Equal opportunity ya know!

Thanks for that installation description. The Borla looks much better, as expected. Let us know how the road test goes.
