BRAKES! or lack thereof!

driving the other day on city street. coming up on a light.... step on the brakes and nothing.... had to pump the brakes 2 or 3 times and finally stopped. Any one else have similar issues.... truck is in the shop right now. waiting to hear.... oh yea ... 25 Ranger XLT with about 800 miles on it....

It did an over the air update prior to this that said it addressed the brake booster issue

Look inside the driver's door at the white sticker. There should be a date there.

i had a 2020 ranger lariat with 55k kms on it. the brake pedal was pretty soft. i traded it for a 25 ranger lariat. i never did any test drive before i bought it so i had no idea what the brakes felt like. within 30 seconds of driving off the lot for the first time a car in front of me unexpectedly stopped. i hit the brakes and it felt like nothing. i almost rear ended that car in my brand new truck. i had to use so much pressure on the pedal i was thinking my wife won't be able to drive this truck. i did manage to stop but for the next while driving the new truck i was pretty nervous.

over time the pedal felt better and it is still stiff but much more normal now that i have 3500kms on it. is it possible you are feeling the same thing? my brakes are normal now but there is a break in period.

also, mine had the brake booster update done on it when i picked it up (well i assume so because i never received any recall notifications for it).
