I may be getting closer to a RR. I am going to guess it is a small number affected by this. Would you in any way let this sway you not to buy the RR? Just being over cautious I guess.

I would yes. It is an invasive fix that should never be an issue in the first place. I had my gen 2 phasers replaced and all is good now. You will rarely see 2020 and newer raptors have phaser issues because they redesigned the part. My guess is that at some point here, ford will do the same for the 3.0.

You can look at the Bronco Raptors if it's a common problem. It's been out longer. Might be just a few builds.

That's what I thought. But others pointed out there have been more cam phaser issues on the 3.0 and 2.7 than I previously thought. Even in 2024 models, so I don't know about that "redesigned" part.

They will put a new part in. It’s just a matter of when that happens.

Is the replacement part of a revised, corrected design, or is it the same part that's been breaking?

Right now I believe it’s the same part. I don’t think they have a redesigned part for the 3.0 yet

Which brings up a good point - I would NOT have my phasers replaced until there is a new part. Otherwise, you are just putting in a potentially bad part again. Some gen 2 guys had their phasers replaced 3-4 times because of that.

I just noticed mine rattling this morning. Not happy since I just got my Raptor back from having an engine seal replaced since it was faulty and leaking oil.

I had to look up what a bad phasers sounds like.
Apparently, this has going on for quite a few years. You would think by now that all vehicles get the new design. If that's the case, then the new part isn't a definite fix, or else there is a new, new part.
