Searched and didn't find anything...

I generally use CarPlay Navigation and I like that I can see the info in my Navigation menu on the driver cluster (see pic), and then use the center console for other things, like XM radio (XM doesn't display on center console if you have CarPlay active, which is another silly thing). But most of all, it is in line of sight for driving, showing miles remaining, ETA, and next turn.

PROBLEM: it is hit and miss. Even on the same trip, it will show, other times it just says "Apple CarPlay Active", and no navigation info. The same is true for the music menu. Sometimes it shows the artist and song in the center cluster, other times it just says "Apple Music Playing".

What am I missing? is there a setting? I prefer to see this in the center cluster for better eyes-on-road.

Consider yourself lucky if if car play is actually working. I've been pretty frustrated with it randomly not connecting. Especially frustrating when trying to get Maps back up after stopping at a rest stop mid trip.

Same here. At least every other day CarPlay won't connect. Annoying.

CarPlay has actually been working flawlessly for everything... EXCEPT calls. It's maddening. It never crashes, always connects for everything but calls. I take a call and within minutes CarPlay crashes and quickly reboots. During these 15 seconds, the other end can't hear me. I'm over it.

I've been playing with Sync4 Nav and it's actually really really good. I may just use Bluetooth for music, audio books, and not even use CarPlay. Not seeing the value.

Let's keep this on topic becasue his question is a good one - if we use ford NAV, then the driver's console always shows the Nav instructions. But I have also seen that when using Carplay/Waze that is SOMETIMES shows the route on the drivers console too, but that its hit & miss. What is controlling this and how can we utulize this integration more reliably (w/o setting both nav systems to the same end point)?
