Maybe I need to go back and edit my previous post, but I'll write it here.
Yesterday, I left home about 2 PM, outside time was 92F, dash read 108F, but it was parked in the sun. That temp dropped down to 94F after driving at 60 for about 5 minutes. Fans were pretty loud at start up, so maybe the fan is controlled by ambient air AND engine temp.
I remember my '99 B4000 would sound like a garbage truck when I first started it. That had the mechanical/viscous clutch that always took a few minutes to equalize.
