Good afternoon family, I recently purchased a 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor obviously… however I’ve been having issues with my Bluetooth/plugin usb/carplay. Every once in a while the Bluetooth will disconnect or freeze a portion of the screen. Also this only happened once but when I received a phone call via CarPlay the screen shut off and turned back on. Any ideas how to fix this issue? I’m assuming it may be a software update. Thanks.

I've noticed some wierd issues with it as well. Sometimes it's connected and doesn't work. Or if connected on start up I get a black screen. noticed doing something on the phone sometimes fixes it.. No idea on a resolution, seems like there are bugs that need to be fixed in the software.

It’s annoying to pay this much for a new vehicle and it already has issues. Hopefully Ford puts out an update

Yes they had service notes on the sync 4a before they ever started shipping units. sounds like that was part of the delays with the ranger and 150's both.

There is supposed to be a software update in the 4th quarter for mostly all SYNC 4 vehicles to fix issues. Unfortunately SYNC has never been perfect and there will always be glitches and updates.

Only 500 miles in but never had a problem yet and amazed at how quickly and seamlessly it connects to my phone....even if on a call on my phone and jump in the RR and it immediately connects and transfers the call to the truck....can't even remember where I put my USB cable :)

Got the black screen this morning. Only second time in almost two months of ownership. Just turned off the truck and turned back on and the screen came up. While temporarily annoying, its been flawless otherwise.

Hi Craig! I can look into your Ranger's screen concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Ranger's VIN?

I had this issue happen as well. Did you try rebooting the center display? It appears to have helped me with my issue - I haven't experienced any freezing since the reboot.

Rebooting the Center Display

You can reboot the center display using the controls on the steering wheel.
  1. Simultaneously press and hold the seek forward and volume down button for 10 seconds.

I've had a similar issue. It seems to occur after the truck has been running a while, and then shut off. When I go to restart the truck, Carplay wont connect. A soft reset, and rebooting my phone, tends to solve the issue. This issue also seems like it may be heat related, as I've never had it happen when its cool outside. Hopefully the update later in the year fixes it. Its not a huge deal, unless I have to make stops and shut the truck off :)

I'm on the same situation. In 3 or 4 months, today was the 2nd time I got a black stuck screen. Tried the holding buttons on the steering wheel method but no success. Taking the car to the dealership tomorrow. ☹

Sorry have to vent. Just got a new RR, can’t seem to get wireless CarPlay to work hardly at all (iPhone 14pro, up to date). It doesn’t seem to want to connect, and when it does it disconnects with just about any real use. If I do get it to work at all, upon entry the next time it’s all the same drama all over again. Frustrating. I’ll try using it corded next. Guess I’ll make a trip to the dealer if I can’t get it to work any better than this.

Technology in cars sucks, bad technology really sucks.

I got tired of trying to get car play to work wirelessly. Now I just Bluetooth music and use ford’s base navigation. I haven’t tried cabling CarPlay.
