You can cool your PC effectively with a standard, $5 case fan. It will be loud, but it will work.Unfortunately this is normal, as much as it sucks. I get it, parked next to most other cars that have their AC on, these trucks are loud. I get comments all the time about how loud it is and how it sounds like a jet taking off. Everyone can always hear me arrive in my driveway. Fans are louder than my exhaust. But I've been around other Fords, like the Explorer, Bronco, etc, and they all have the same characteristic - loud fan when it's hot out. I work with fan blades and electric motors in my career. If you want to push air at high RPM's and keep costs at a manageable level you're going to get noise. Could Ford make it better? Yes. Would it cost more? Also yes.
Thats not how that works lol. You can make that 5 dollar fan just as quiet. You can cool your PC effectively with a standard, $5 case fan. It will be loud, but it will work.
Alternatively, you can cool it with a Noctua fan, and it will be quiet, but the fan will cost $25.
Someone's got to cost cut somewhere. Still, it really is loud. ?
If it's running at a lower RPM for a given volume of airflow, it's going to be quieter.Thats not how that works lol. You can make that 5 dollar fan just as quiet.
One thing I have noticed is, when truck is in direct sun, the temp on the dash displays much hotter than what the actual temp is. Curious if the fan is reading off the temp displayed, as opposed to what the actual ambient temp is, which makes the fan run excessively. I bet I'm right. If it's running at a lower RPM for a given volume of airflow, it's going to be quieter.
It happens every day.
There's an ambient air temperature sensor in the passenger side door mirror, if I recall correctly. One thing I have noticed is, when truck is in direct sun, the temp on the dash displays much hotter than what the actual temp is. I still think the false high temp reading is driving the cooling fans. Thoughts?I replaced the AAT sensor trying to fix the AAT temp being off most of the time. It didn’t help. I would guess it’s a software issue. I’m surprised more people haven’t been complaining about this issue.
