Customize Home Screen in car play

Is it possible to do it? Add something like a picture to the screen instead of the dozen or so random options available in settings? I thought I saw something about it but can’t seem to find it.

Nope, Apple apparently doesn’t want distractions there, possibly reducing the clarity of the app icons; the same reason a lot of apps are not CarPlay compatible - they require too much driver input without voice commands. Even if you had a pretty picture there, it would be mostly covered by icons…..

Thats' a no. You can choose light, dark or automatic jelly beans.

You can pick which apps and the the order that they appear on the screen, but you have to do it from the phone.

I did notice that with IOS 18, the messages show the picture assigned to the contact. I think that is new.

I didn't realize this was still a thing, but here we are...

ForScan is a super simple editor, and my choice of phone has zero impact on my ability to make edits to either human readable, or hex codes to make simple changes in the vehicle control modules. It's quite similar to registry updates in Windows operating systems.

I've been an IT professional for nearly 30 years and choose iPhone because I'm not interested in customizing it more than is offered. I need a phone that just works when I use it which Apple has supplied me with for nearly 2 decades.
