My drivers side CV Axle boot is having a small leak. How serious is this and what are some good fixes to seal it?

To me that appears to be your upper ball joint, assuming you're still under warranty, have the dealer take a look at it and let us know what they say.

While admittedly a bad picture- it's showing all the little grease spots coming from the leaking boot.

The tie rod retaining nut looks pretty chewed up as well. It almost looks like someone attempted to install a leveling kit at some point using vise grips and a ball-peen hammer ?‍♂

Yeah, I went to have a leveling kit put on and screwed up my CV Axle. He is going to replace it for free atleast, but now I gotta listen to that awful racquet for about a week until he can get the part and fix it. I also have to get all my sensors recalibrated as nothing is working, cruise control, drive modes, etc. ABS Light is on, uphill assist and collision assist have faults.

Update: The people who did my level kit fixed my CV Axle. I no longer am having the bad grinding noise. As far as my sensors, it turns out they messed up my wheel speed sensor on that same wheel too so they have to replace it. It’ll be my third trip to that place just to get it right. My advice to everyone, do your research and make sure you know who you’re taking it to. When I called that place, should’ve took the red flag when he sounded overconfident saying he’s doing every truck new or old and I know what I’m doing. Obviously not, but wheel speed sensor should be replaced this week to get all my sensors back working. Only reason I took it to this certain place is because they did alignments and my usual mechanic I go to who does an excellent job doesn’t have an alignment rack

I am thinking of putting a 2" leveling kit (Shock Spacers) on my 2024 Ranger. I have read because of the increase in travel that this may allow the shock to bottom out before the lower a arm contacts the stop, possibly causing damage to the shock. I realize this will only happen under maximum compression but was wondering if anyone has had or heard of this issue?

I just went on for my first oil change and the driver side wheel and area was caked with grease so they ordered me a compete CV axle, on back ordered, arriving around 10-4. Glad they seen it, but here we go again. My older posts on my 24 RR front axle went at 300 miles, cam phasers at 900 miles, at least I got 2000 miles so far before an issue!!!! ugh
