anyone have the Decked single drawer cargo system in the bed of their Ranger? if so, did you self install or pay to have it installed? how easy was it to install if you did it yourself? I ordered one and am waiting for it to arrive but torn between self install and having someone do it (quoted 3 hours labor at labor rate). The paying to have it done is a bit pricey, not to mention hauling it to the place, but may save my back in the long run.... TIA....

You could enjoy the driveway/garage time doing this installation yourself. Read some instructions, watch a vid or two, and have fun.

I don't have a Deck system in my Ranger. I had one in my Tacoma, and it was the two drawer system. So, I can't answer precisely, but ...

I found the instructions well written and very clear. They were also good about warning about the steps where errors were likely ... like situations where the obvious looking approach was incorrect.

There were a couple of steps in which a second person was necessary, and the instructions pointed that out. I'd say that 98% of the process was an easy one man job. It took me more time than the published estimate, but that's always the case for me.

I actually enjoyed doing the installation. Plan a full day. The work of the second person isn't difficult ... your wife or girlfriend can do it, or just have a friend who's available for 30 minutes.

I have the single drawer in my RR. My son and I installed it in about 3 hours but we were working slow. Very easy and the instructions were well done.

The system itself isn't super light, and depending on what you carry, it can add enough weight that make you address your suspension.

That's probably especially true for Raptors.

update: decide to have it installed after my back decided it needed a break from everything.... oh and as for the wright issue, shipped it weighs about 240 lbs and that includes the free accessory kit (the bins and cases they include)so Im not figuring it would impact my suspension much...

You'll like it. It's very high quality stuff in my experience.

As for weight, 240 pounds reduces your effective payload from approximately 1400 pounds to about 1150 pounds. But you got the system to put stuff in it, and it's easier to carry things you might not have carried otherwise. Hopefully you're more disciplined than I am in that regard.

We shall see… I’m usually pretty particular about how clean I keep my truck so I’m hopping this will help me be more organized… as for the payload, I. Don’t really haul a lot ofvstuff so that may be of no concern… not planning on moving anytime soon…
