I've experienced delayed AC on startup three times in the past couple of weeks.

Truck starts up normally, infotainment is fine, etc...BUT: no air will come out of the vents for about 3-5 minutes, after which air starts blowing.

Doesn't matter what settings I toggle through, it takes about 3-5 minutes to resolve each time.

Anyone else experience something like this?

Next time it happens I'll restart the truck and see if it goes away on restart, or if it remains. Takes me a while to notice sometimes since I rarely use more than 1-2 setting for fan.

I've had this happen only one time. I only waited a minute though as I live in Florida. I backed out of driveway and noticed no air coming from vents but ac was on and fan speed was 3 but nothing. So I turned truck off and restarted and it starting blowing again as normal. I have a 24 with 7k miles and hadn't had it happen again for probably 4 months.

Yes there seems to be a delay in the HVAC system that is "normal" ...........but 3-5 minutes ?
That just seems too long? :sunglasses:

As an update to this, the dealer called and let me know it was a bad blower motor...new part should be in by Wed.

I was prepared for a shitty ordeal since the issue was intermittent and of course the fan started blowing again on my way over to the dealer, but after providing them a couple videos of the issue they were apparently able to figure it out.

Couple of days and should be good. First and only issue I've had outside of a drivers side door trim panel rattle.

15.5k miles.

🤷‍♂️

I'm always late for this kind of stuff, but the issue was fixed under warranty. Dealer put in a new blower motor (apparently there's more than 1?) and the timeline was basically as advertised once diagnosis was complete. AC works fine now.

If you live in the SD metro area, Aaron Ford of Poway is pretty good. They kept the truck for as long as it took to do due diligence, reproduce the issue, and troubleshoot; the technical writeup I have from them is basically a short story, haha.

Figured I'd share since most dealership experiences shared here are....negative, to say the least.

Would appreciate if you can check your direct message. Looking for assistance with this issue.

This just happened to me yesterday, it was driving me crazy.

I had it on auto mode, so I thought auto mode was just confused. It was 80F outside, I had it set to 74F.

So I turned it down to 72F, no change, 70F, no change, 68F, no change.

Ok no more auto mode, set the fan on the middle speed and made sure A/C was in fact on.

No change. It took a few minutes for the A/C to actually kick in.

Here's the dealer commentary for anyone who cares. I thought the writeup was longer, like a whole page...I might need to dig some more.
