Seems to be the going rate for deflectors. I’m also researching one for my truck.

I really don’t like the stick on ones. They look good but Putting a sticker chemical on the paint doesn’t really sit well with me. I think you gain the rock protection but I just can’t help but KNOW whenever you have to take it off it is going to leave marks so it defeats the purpose. Plus you can’t remove them to clean behind it or maintain the paint finish.

However, typically don’t keep my cars for more than 3-4 years so I’m also thinking F*ck it, that’ll be someone else’s problem later.

I don’t like most of the ones offered because they stop at the edges of the hood but the fender surface just beyond the edge is a continuation of the hood surface. So your hood will be fine but those fender edges will still get smoked by rocks! Makes no sense.

There’s a company that sells one that goes beyond the hood but they’re out of the UK and with shipping and fees it ends up being well over $200.

For best overall protection I would PPF it.

I agree 100% but it’s also a significant cost difference. I’m watching YouTube videos on how to do it. I’m thinking a simple hood strip would be relatively easy as it doesn’t have too many bends. I wrapped my mountain bike frame and it wasn’t hard at all. The fender edges with all the bends and turns are what have me apprehensive.
