Driver side mirror squeaks when retracting

How should I resolve an annoying squeak made by my driver side mirror as I retract it? I see no gap in the plastic into which I could spray silicone. (Passenger side mirror is silent, no squeak…)

Probably some dirt/sand got stuck in there

can you blow it out with some canned air or a compressor? if that doesn't help, it might be hard to spray something in that doesn't run and make a mess.

Mine did this for a minute...just used my pressure washer to blow whatever was in there out and now it's fine

I will try that- there’s not much space or groove between the plastic parts.

WD40 and mine is gone.

I tried silicone spray but the gap between the two pieces of plastic on the cowl of the mirror is so small that the spray just spashed out all over the door. LOL

same, i just put a paper towel behind then sprayed, all good.
