Ok guys, after some upgrades, I just finished the electric side step on my Ranger Raptor Next Gen.

It was pretty straight forward, but I have encounterd a problem 😅 maybe someone has some experience with this and can help me out.

Everything works fine, EXCEPT the back doors are reversed with the side step activation. So the front doors are correct right/left, but the backdoors are switched.
Anyone has some experience with the wiring maybe?

My guess is you got the rear sensors reversed. Might be as simple as swapping the plugs at the control box.

I tried that, but that just switched the problem from the back doors to the front 🥴

There are only two plugs for the motor each side one.
The there are two wires that go into your door wiring (white/blue tangled wire on the drivers side, or Grey-blue wire tangled with Green-yellow on the passenger side).

I tried to connect both sides, but they gave the same issue.

It seems that my back door signals are swapped from L/R (I think)

Yep that was my next suggestion. Swap the left sensor to the right side and vice versa. Will take a bit of time but should sort it out.

Any idea how to find the sensors for the back doors?
That part I don’t know. Some of the electric steps have physical sensors you have to install yourself. If that’s not how yours works then something else is going on. Some steps tie right into the body harness and those you won’t be able to swap. I’d have to see the instructions for your particular steps. Honestly I’d call whoever made it.

Goggle Retractable elec Ranger running boards there at least 2 companies that make this. I’ve used these on my last three trucks. They run about $1,700

What brand are they you should be able to reach out to the manufacturer for advice. I’d guess is‘s something simple.

All the wiring I did is correct. Tried several options. The seller tested it on a next gen Ranger Raptor, just like my wiring, and it all worked with them. Front and back doors.

So it has to be a swapped (L/R) sensor for my back doors. Later I'm going to open the wiring of the back doors to see if I can find the sensor wiring...
