The goal is to add 24-25” of total pipe to the exhaust to make it equal length. The trombone loop is the most space efficient way to achieve the goal.

Yeah, once I saw the final product I was like “well, that wasn’t it.” Basically just over compensated in the other direction, now the passenger side is longer than the drivers side. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah the finished product i have didn't match my vision either, but it is equal length and it does sound good after breaking in. I'm still looking to get something more professional with smoother bends fabbed up. A z pipe could be interesting.

Emailed SPD and they confirmed that SPD has made a trombone midpipe for the Ranger Raptor already like they did for the F150 but they said they're waiting to release it when they can pair it with a muffler. I said cool but it'd be nice if you could choose to order a single or combine the downpipe, midpipe, & muffler. Maybe if enough people inquire about it they'll change their minds and release it as a single piece like they do for the F150.

The stock muffler pairing didn’t achieve the desired sound. No need to keep inquiring.

You’re referring to 24-25” before the muffler, or total ?

With all due respect, they said end of summer, then fall, then end of year. SPD makes good stuff, but I’m not betting on perfection.
Yes sir. I shouldn’t have shared anything on the subject.
I can say that the projects I’ve been involved with typically take way longer than forecasted. Unless someone leaks something & companies decide to share their trial/errors, then NDA’s are kinda useless at that point.
Then the products I’ve personally worked to bring to market start off at 60-90 days, and a year later are still a ways off.

Trying Borla, Milltek, AFE, Magnaflow, MBRP, etc.
If they get anywhere close to their latest system for the F150, it’ll be like that old song…”close enough to perfect for me “.

I just finished bolting up Borlas Twin Polyphonic Harmonizers with their 21” switchfire, with a couple of FMU megaphones thrown in. Probably sounds like everything else out but have high hopes. I may eventually get a unique sound if I don’t go bankrupt first.
