First road trip in my RR and it did not disappoint

I just returned from a 1145 mile trip down to western NC from Pennsylvania. Essentially 9 hours down and 9 back with some short mountain drives during the week. The RR was loaded with 4 adults and the bed was packed. I managed 19.9 mpg overall with cruise on 75 on way down and 77 on way back. Even more impressive considering the weight in the truck. The seats were comfy for all passengers and no complaints from anyone. Love this truck!

The only downside to the drive was the awful highway drone from the AWE exhaust. Even in quiet mode, it was obnoxious. Time for some Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonators.

Yeah, great road trip truck! Even better with the Vibrants! I'm actually enjoying the exhaust tone. Stock I was always running in quiet mode. Now I find myself in sport exhaust mode quite often. Next may be replacing the KO3's, as they are getting annoying with only 6K on them.

It’s a great truck! I’m from Pa also, Eastern Pa. I do a lot of driving with a mix of highway and regular roads and average between 17.5 and 18.5 mpg and I’m GooseTuned.

Mine barely makes any noise on the hwy in quiet mode.
Definitely doesn't drone unless it's in sport/baja mode

From a fellow Pennsylvanian. Glad to hear the trip went well and impressed with your fuel mileage, I generally travel for a two hour one way trip for camping. No long trips yet and looking forward to one soon. I occasionally tow a 7 and a half by 12 Foot utility trailer with our ATVs for some trail riding. I have the Ford Procal tune on the wife’s RR.

I suppose sound can be a little subjective. What bothers some may not bother others. Maybe I'm just super sensitive to it.

What are the KO3s doing? And what is a good replacement?

They are rather loud now at 6400 miles. I find myself turning up the radio more to cover the increased tread noise. The right replacement depends on what your priorities are! The vast majority of my driving is on road where I tend to lean heavily to the "spirited" side, with a little mild to moderate offroad time. Dry/wet grip, handling, noise, comfort and tire weight matter more to me than an aggressive tread and hardcore offroad chops. The Continental TerrainContact A/T and Firestone Destination A/T2 are on my radar. The Firestone S/L comes in at 41 pounds! Supposedly the Continental A/T2 is coming out in an SL version that should be around 46 pounds and ride better than their L/T version.
