Folding Headrests installed

Only the SuperCab versions from the 5G tilt. There was a recall that forced Ford to change them to tilting models since the headrests interfered with a child seat when installed. The non-folding headrests couldn't be removed at all since the seat in the SuperCab doesn't fold down.

Thanks Jedadiah for all of your insight on these headrests. I have a 2025 XLT Ebony cloth and I assume the part number would be the same as 2024. Do you have a link for the ebay vendor that you used? I see that Fastlane OEM has them listed for $39 and free shipping.

I bought them on eBay for roughly $40 each, so it looks like you have found. good seller. I assume if the fabric name hasn't changed then you should be safe on color.

Thanks. My local dealer had a set that I got for $40 each. I can confirm that the part number you listed works on the 2025 Rangers as well. Ebony was a perfect match for my interior. Thanks again for all of your information!

I just found this thread, I was wondering about folding the seats down with the the headrests, that doesn't normally work well on any vehicle and my truck hasn't arrived yet so I couldn't check. This is a good solution and one I can definitely use as with no kids we will be folding the back seat down a lot of the time.

I missed the folding headrests in the rear of my 5G SuperCab, so I asked around to see if they would fit in my new truck. I found a set on eBay and they they're a direct fit. For an XLT with the dark cloth interior, the part number is MB3Z21611A08CC.

For 2020 and later Ford Ranger SuperCab models, the rear seat headrests do not fold down by default—unlike the 2019 models. However, a popular DIY mod enables folding functionality using a simple, low-cost solution.

The Mod: Remove the headrest cover, insert a 1/2-inch wooden dowel rod cut to 1-3/4 inches long into the hidden release hole. This acts as a makeshift button to trigger the folding mechanism.
Result: The headrest folds down 90°, allowing the rear seatback to lie flat without hitting the front seats—ideal for maximizing cargo space.
Ease of Use: The mod takes about 30 minutes, and the headrests are easier to remove and reinstall afterward.

I did that to my 2020 Ranger,simple to do.
Have not looked at my ‘25 yet lol

Did the folding headrest retro-fit mod. Ordered a pair of MB3Z-21611A08-CC just like the OP suggested. Ordered directly via the Ford parts website. Found a dealer within the service area offering the parts at a ~20% discount and got free FedEx overnight shipping. Long story short.....the folding headrests out of the previous gen. Ranger fit to an absolute "T." The detent functions exactly the same. With the headrests folded down, the seat-back still folds down flat. There's plenty of clearance between the headrest and sliding rear window.....absolutely no interference with the glass or power coupler. And for those with ebony XLT cloth interior the color/fabric are a bullseye match.
