hey , it’s 19 inches from decked to top of opening, 24 inches from decked top to roof of topper in it. If that makes sense.
Thanks for the measure!! But bummer. Looks like his ruffland kennel is 27” tall. He might fit in a shorter one though.

Got my leer topper installed on my lariat today. Retailer installed the j-braces that I bought from the dealership (they said they would then bitched about it when I picked it up). I love the way I looks but don’t like the huge clamps that secure it to the bed. Anyone had these big clamps on previous toppers?

Topper also has some flaws that I have to take back to get fixed, bubble in window tint and one side window doesn’t latch shut. Was cheaper than the leer through ford and also better upgrades.

I just joined the Forum as I‘m having a bunch of issues with my 2024 XLT. Question for Justin about the topper.…

I purchased my XLT in June of this year (I found a set of 18 OEM take off rims and tires and changed out the 17’s that came with the truck) and ordered a topper from Ford as part of the deal. Normally I would have purchased a topper from a local Leer dealer, but no one would sell me one due to the bed issue not supporting mor than 80 pounds on each of the side rails of the bed. They said it was a “liability” issue for them. So I ended up paying more for the Topper from Ford (and getting less options for the price). The experience with the dealer was a nightmare because of the support brackets that needed to be installed. I wanted the topper so that I could put a Kevlar canoe on top of the truck and the dealer said that the topper/truck would not hold the weight of the canoe…..I did it anyway.

So…..following the Topper nightmare, I had a local specialty shop install a Rough Country leveling kit on the front of the truck. It was the 2.5 inch kit that Rough Country says fits the truck (only kit that they have for a 2024 XLT I think). Anyway almost immediately after the install, I started hearing a “rotational noise” coming from the front of the truck when rolling up to a stop sign (can‘t hear it a high speeds). Took the truck back to the specialty shop that installed the leveling kit and they said the axel needed grease put into the boots on the drive shaft. I took the truck to the Dealer I purchased it from, and they said the drive shaft was bad and they replace it with a new one under warranty. The noise was still there! The dealer then said that because I had the truck “undercoated” (since I live in the mid-west where DOT still uses liquid salt on roads in the winter it helps preserve the underside of your vehicle), that the undercoating was on the half shaft‘s on the front axels, they it made them rub together and make the noise. I thought that didn’t make any sense as the boots on the half shafts don’t come in contact with anything?

I then took the truck to another Ford Dealer in a small town nearby, and they told me the lift of the leveling kit is causing the half shaft axels to position at steep angles and it is causing them rubbing/rotational noise. They told me that the only way to be sure was to remove the leveling kit to see if the noise went away. They also said for me to reach out to Ford Corporate to see if they would pay for the removal of the leveling kit to diagnose the problem. Well…..that didn’t go over with Ford Corporate as they told me it was an aftermarket part installed by someone that was not a Ford Dealer and they couldn’t help me!

So my question to you all is…..has anyone ever had any issue with the standard Rough Country leveling kit putting stress on the half axels making a rotational rubbing noise? I’m potentially looking at spending a bunch of money pulling the leveling kit out and maybe replacing half axles if they were damaged from the Rough Country kit.

Sorry for the long post here…..had to get the details out so you all would understand the issue. By they way…..your topper install looks fantastic!!

I have an ARE brand topper as my local LEER dealer didn't seem too interested in putting a topper on a 2024 Ranger. I was going to get one from Ford, but the Leer topper was "unavailable" when I ordered my truck in May 2024.
I have the bed clamps as did my previous two F150s.

Hey, in regards to your topper I just bought the support brackets and had the Leer people put them on before they put my topper on which was also kind of a mess but they were able to do it.

in regards to your leveling kit, I would post that in a new thread to see if anyone has that issue too. You might get more responses than posting it here.

I think toppers look like crap! That being said the Ranger looks great with them! I think it is the roof line and the topper is fluid, these all look great!
