Ford Accessories - Leer Topper No Longer Available for Raptor

I was waiting for the toppers to come back into stock from Ford now that j-braces are available again, however this message now appears:

• Not available with Raptor model
• For vehicles built before 9/12/24, the vehicle must have installed the Load Box Reinforcement Kit VN1WZ2627726A

Seems weird that it's not available for the Raptor anymore, even with j-braces.

honestly the ford branded leer was a bit of a scam. you can get more features for the same price or cheaper if you go direct thru leer or ARE. definitely get quotes from multiple dealers in your area but this was my experience when I was considering one.

the ford one was very bare bones and still cost a fortune.

Agree, although I was considering it just because the bed seems to be a major issue, and at least if you bought it through Ford you should be in a better position warranty wise. The fact that they're now essentially saying "no go" even with the j-braces seems eye opening in terms of what they think they going to run into from warranty costs, but maybe I'm reading into it too much.

I think you may be reading into it too much. I'm still seeing the topper available for normal rangers which would also have the same concerns about the bed reinforcements. although i don't have a clue why it wouldn't be okay for the raptor anymore.

you might get more info if you reach out to LEER directly to see if something has changed regarding the RR. i know some members here that own raptors have gotten toppers from leer/ARE already with no issues

I have a 2024 XLT and getting a Leer cap installed tomorrow. Their only stipulation was that I have the load box braces installed to prevent the truck and Leer warranties from being voided.
