FordPass Connect Location does not track in real time, only when parked, sort of

My wife took the RR to the box store, I tried to follow her progress from home…. I was also using Apple Find My to locate her iPhone.

Location showed the truck parked here, then running, then a hundred yards down the steet. That location FROZE until she reached the store 4 miles away, then I could see it parked there. After she left, Location showed it still at the store. Then it showed Parked at a donut shop… LOL

I thought it tracked in real time. Is this an app issue? How does yours work? How fast does the location update, if it is supposed to? Here is a recent discussion, with mixed answers. Some say it does work properly.


If it doesn’t track in real time, I am going to hide an Airtag somewhere. And I will be very pissed about having to do it, since those are really laggy.

Is there a setting that needs to be changed? FYI she does not have the Connect app installed on her iPhone.

My Lariat acts the same way.
Shows when parked but freezes after moving a distance.
I also thought it tracked in real time.
Would not be surprised if it is an app issue as the app has a lot of issues.

it worked before the big V5 update. now it doesn't work. they've been updating the app and adding old features back in, but not sure if they'll add the real time tracking back in.

you can always uninstall V5 and install V4, real time tracking still works on V4; for now.

How do I find and install V4? It is not on the App Store, I don’t think I can install an older version app any other way, Apple doesn’t let you go backwards.

Ah, forgot Apple can't. Guess your only option is the apple tag or having an apple device on an old IOS system software running the old app.
