For consideration...

Although the 'spreadsheet' in circulation is a great resource, many times code changes can be problematic [ie proper functionality , differences in MY & software, file outdated, etc].

Found a seemingly more 'reliable' means to do 'As-Built' coding specific to VIN.
IMO, use of an AI tool to assist proven to be valuable and favorable as another resource/comparison.
Why & How:
  • VIN specific coding
  • Identify and upload existing module(s) current state code [ie screenshots]
  • Modified code changes provided/recommended along with helpful explanations, benefits, risks etc
My experience thus far, code change outputs reliable -> error free, zero 'unwelcomed issues' encountered, each mod worked 1st time.

To-date, list of successful Forscan code mods completed with "AI assist" ...YMMV
  1. Glare-Free High Beams
  2. Trail Turn Assist
  3. Disable double honk
  4. Bambi mode
  5. Turbo boost gauge
  6. Tire temperature display
  7. Lane change = 5 flashes
  8. Disable seatbelt chimes
  9. Welcome lighting
  10. Turn signal volume
  11. DRL menu
  12. Auto Lock menu

Probed, experimented with a few AI tools with Forscan coding in-mind.

Found ChatGPt useful....
That said, as a subscriber.… get their ‘latest-greatest’ enhanced versions.

As an aside, found useful for VIN specific coding with my BMW M cars as well.

would you be willing to share some information around this? using a different AI tool didn't yield what I needed for glare free lighting.

Generally speaking, find initially crafting very specific, detailed instructions/request extremely valuable to obtain sufficient, efficient feedback. Especially effective for process, problem-solving type chats.

Before hitting the go-button, suggest this phrase appended to your inquiry, prior to submission along with any doc, pics, etc:

"Before answering, ask me any clarifying questions you need. If you already have enough information, answer immediately and explain any assumptions you're making."

This approach significantly focuses tool response and reduces unnecessary clarifications, excessive back-n-forth...blah-blah.

Since my mods were successful, didn't retain those chats to share.
Question(s)?
