How thick is the part that goes in the channel?

Last time I bought in channel visors they scratched the hell out of my glass where it goes in the channel after a few months and when you took them off the weather stripping no longer sealed so it had to be replaced :(

Sammy,
I watched the video and was curious about inserting the clips. Can you fill me in as to what the clips do and are they needed? Thanks.

they go in between the rubber window gaskets so they visor stays out far enough when you roll the window up. and even with the clips, sometimes my window still hits the edge and bumps back down. when it does that, i have to reach across and push the visor out a little while rolling up or i cannot close the window.

they are needed, for sure
