Anyone with a RR noticed paint, or whatever the coating is, flaking off the front bumper? I’ve not seen it come up on the forum.

Booked in for service on Friday, issued will be raised.

I’ve noticed the same with my RR! It’s pretty minimal at this point (just a few centimeters of flaking at an edge) but was not sure if the dealership would do anything about it. I’ve had the truck for less than a year. Please let me know if they offer a solution under warranty!

Cmon bro. You can’t make a post like this and not post pictures. 🙄

I’ve never heard of this issue.
My truck is getting window tint installed but will post pics when I get it back later in the week. For me it’s the silver portion above the front skid plate and surrounds the front tow hooks. The plastic portion.

Very interesting. Do you think it’s debris related. Like rocks on the highway or paint failure?

I don’t remember seeing any divots in the plastic or other evidence of an impact, but I will take a closer look when I get pics. Definitely could have been debris that started it but it seems to have grown since I first noticed it making me think the paint may be at least partly to blame.

It would probably be useful to know what Factory it was built at, for comparison with others.

That paint underneath is awfully shiny, so it's no wonder that there's peeling.

My guess is the front bumper sustained damage some where along the line in transport and they did a quick fix of sorts.

Is the color underneath the peeling paint black or a really dark grey metallic?
If it's black, the bumper was damaged somewhere in transit and repainted & replaced without proper surface prep.

There's also the possibility that the supplier that provides the bumpers had a batch slip thru where their paint and prep shop totally didn't give a dang. (sadly, this happens more often than we are aware)

Finally got my truck back. That^ is the photo of my paint flaking. Had full PPF on all the body panels but not here. Definitely could be from impact of debris. I can see a few smaller areas that look like and impact. That part that is flaking is a more horizontal portion so I’m surprised it was able to take an impact compared to the more forward facing part. I doubt the dealer would do anything under warranty and will probably just live with it.

Dealer took photos and is going to submit warranty claim in readiness when the Truck is back in home state around Oct.
