Just to close this out, my truck did get fixed. I kind of feel horrible about the whole “Customer Service” experience. The first time I turned it in for the drive shaft, (about 2500 miles) the dealer stated they couldn’t find any problem—they kept my truck for 2 weeks and gave it back filthy.

This time, not that many miles later—and I mean not that many. The truck has only been from one shop to another; Dealer, Raptor Specialist TMX, Detail, and back to Ford—I never have had much chance to drive it.
This time at Ford, I made a power point presentation with 8”x11” pictures, with arrows pointing to where the grease leaked from, where it went— piled up on heat shield, exhaust, etc, and the fire hazard it presented especially on the exhaust system in close proximity to the catalytic converters. I included pictures from the first time I turned it in and they couldn’t find the problem, and this second time where it is incredibly obvious. I first sent the presentation to my service advisor on email when I requested another appointment.
When I showed up for the appointment, I gave the service advisor a printed copy of the presentation to give to the service tech.
The Dealer did fix it—but it took over 2 1/2 weeks. I’m not happy about that. I think I’m less happy about a truck with 2500 miles that has been to the Ford dealership 3 times for warranty/recall items (brake recall, air bag recall, and this driveshaft warranty)—and it seems the average time in there is about 2 weeks. There is no loaner car, so it creates the hassle of a loss of a vehicle for what I am calling “Warranty Jail” for an un-spoken amount of time. They make me an appointment for several weeks in advance, and then, when you drop it off, they openly tell you they will not even begin work on your vehicle for several days—I’m thinking, why even have an appointment system?

Before I turned in my truck, it was immaculate—it had just came out of the detail shop where I had it paint corrected, ceramic coated, and partial PPF on high chip areas—it looked awesome.

The Ford Dealer must have stored it outside, and I’m not sure how, but it looks like it rained dirt on my truck—the dried-on remnants of little water spots with “dirt” rings around them covered the entire truck. I couldn’t even drive it without first hitting the windshield washers, as I couldn’t even barely see out the windows.
Maybe I’m spoiled, and expect far too much from a Ford dealership. For last 25 years my only new vehicles were German, and it doesn’t matter, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW—all of them, when you have your vehicle serviced, the appointment is honored, it comes with a free loaner, and it is washed and vacuumed before it is returned. On my last BMW, I never washed that car once during the first 6 years I owned it—I would stop by and ask for free tire pressure check—they would check the air and wash and vacuum it before it was returned.

The length of time it stayed at the dealer interfered with follow-on appointments with two other shops I was scheduled for (larger fuel pump/injectors and Dyno/tuning). Coordination had to be made—once pump and injectors are installed—they are so large—you can’t even start the engine without a basic new tune. The Dynotuning shop appointment was critical—if I didn’t get it there by 2nd week of December, he was closing and going out of town for holidays—and would not be able to do my truck until mid January. Ford made me miss my appointment. When I got my truck back from Ford, I took it straight to installer and had pump and injectors installed by the next day. The truck had to stay there for over a week until the Dyno shop opened and the truck was towed there—and even though it was there, I had to wait for other cars in front of me, and he would fit it in when he could. Then, the weather in Texas went to crazy, and you can’t run a dyno below freezing temperatures—but, first, the road had to be clear enough to even drive to the shop. As the weather gets better. He has to clear out the backlog and he can now get to me. It is now February, and I have had my truck stuck in shops since November and a big part of the reason was Ford—if they had built the truck properly, I wouldn’t have needed a new driveshaft. If they would have fixed it the first time it was brought in, I wouldn’t not have needed another appointment. If the second appointment didn’t take over 2 1/2 weeks—or at minimum, notified me of the duration I as going to have to wait, I wouldn’t have missed my Dynotuning appointment.

I’m not happy

It’s crazy how dealers differ. Our local dealer, (Fugate Ford Enumclaw Wa) had my sons ST in for a foggy head light under warranty and replaced both lights. They said if one is leaking both will since they were the same run. No questions asked, to my point it’s the dealers description for warranty, the make it seem like it comes out of their pocket.

For the money they ask for a Raptor, ..........I'd expect perfection.
Hope the OP has better days ahead in 2026
