Looking into a bedrack set up for my truck and the options seem super limited, anyone pull the trigger on any full height racks yet?
seems like the mounting will be interesting, so the "Universal" ones have me a little worried. Big spend to be an experiment.
Ive seen alot of posts about it on here but nobody really had a final comment on it yet.
any pics would be awesome!

The problem is the bedrails, which will not support a rack. People have been fabricating their own shims to put in the openings in the bedrail to provide support under the rack. I did this with some high density plastic, but my rack was too long and deformed the bed rail past the shim fairly badly.

I did find a video on youtube for adarac for a 2024 Ford Ranger that looks deadly, but I can't find a provider in Canada.

Ford was kind enough to provide mounting points but, so far, I haven't seen much that utilizes them.

This might be an example of someone trying to standardize something, but nobody else picking up the standard. I haven't looked up how much mass the stake pocket mounting points are meant to manage, but I'm disappointed that I can't just clamp something anywhere.

This is the Adarac M-series (mid height) rack.

"Height above the box rail: 12 in. for all trucks. Weight Capacity: 1,000 lbs. static, 500 lbs. dynamic and 400 lbs. off-road dynamic"

They make a taller one that is 12" taller than this that would sit roughly 6 inches above the roof line. Same specs as far as weight ratings.

Interesting, surprise Ford hasn’t figured out some sort of remedy for this yet. I’ve never heard of any other truck having this issue. Kind of annoying’ cause those bed racks look awesome and are super practical. I guess if someone was supposed to keep the rack on for a long time it wouldn’t really matter what happens to the rails… but we definitely suck when it comes to resale

Ya, my previous trucks have lived with the racks on them, I do a lot of wilderness canoeing. Not happy about this surprise when I went to mount my new racks and found out there was a problem. I have communicated with ford, but got the run-around. Almost need a new bed rail that sits flush, or maybe next year if I have some dough I'll just take the bed rails right off and put a topper on it with rails installed.

Absolutely. We have a 6" rack out now that utlizes the holes in the bed sides. I love what Ford gave us for bed racks. The way we mount is super-strong and super easy to install/remove. I'll have some more detail on the quick-remove kit very soon. Here's a video that gives some info -

Here's the product page for the 6" RAILS - https://adventurelab.com/products/ford-ranger-bed-rail

We have also had interest in taller version, to be above a rolled tonneau cover. We will also have versions out to work with t-slot that comes on some of the tonneaus.

Those look awesome! A taller version would be incredible, I’m Looking for something I could use with a roll up and still be able to get bikes in the back. I’ll keep my eyes peeled !
Thanks for the response

We beat the crap out of @AdventureLab rack for 8 days in Baja and heading back for 4 more days later this week.

The rack is entirely flexible but in this case "perfectly" holds 2 x 128l Roam cases and either 2 or 4 Maxtrax Extreme boards while staying fully aero.. Highly recommended.
