Been having some random software issues lately with my 2025 Ranger Raptor. First thing is I keep randomly getting alerts to put my hands on the steering wheel when they are both on there, happens about twice a week and goes away after a few seconds. The other thing happened today. I was stopped at a red light and truck was running a little rough, exhaust sounded louder and rougher than usual. I suddenly got an alert that cruise control was disabled and adaptive cruise would not work. I hit ok and as soon as I started driving on a green light, truck was running smooth as silk, felt like I was suddenly in a different vehicle. Suspension, steering acceleration, everything felt different in a good way. Was really strange. Once I got on the highway I tested the cruise and adaptive cruise and everything worked fine. Not sure what’s going on, no sensors are blocked. Btw I have the ProCal tune. Have had it since it was available. Had the brake boost recall done a few days ago and plugged in the tuner after to confirm my tune was still there. Anyone else have these random alerts or erratic driving behaviors?

It has no direct way to know if your hands are on the wheel so it guesses by detecting torque from you turning the wheel. On long straight sections requiring no input on the wheel it can’t tell if you’re paying attention or not so it warns, to be safe.

There isn't a fix for the driving alerts. Its a known issue within the forum. The only minor fix I have found is putting the RR steering in Sport Mode to increase the sensitivity of the steering wheel input. I drive everyday on the highway for 30 miles back and forth to work and constantly have to give the steering wheel a little jiggle. There is a user on here that installed an aftermarket dash cam front/rear that also has an AI program that overrides the Lane Centering and allows Auto Pilot like a tesla. I forgot who it was and what the system was called.
