Good morning. I am a 22 Maverick owner and am looking to purchase a Ford Ranger. I have had a 2.0 AWD XLT Maverick for 3 years and love it. It is a great daily driver. The only shortcoming I have seen is the lack of 4-wheel drive for winter driving in snow. Part of the issue of being a Midwest resident.
Planning on keeping the Maverick since it is paid off but would like to get a Ranger for the 4wd and have a more capable truck.
I am interested in an XLT Model. Leather seats are not for me. Wanted the forum to weigh in on the pros and cons of getting the 2.3 -4 versus the 2.7-6 engine and what the best configuration would be.? My initial thoughts are getting one with the 301a package for the powered driving and heated seats and dual climate controls and adding the FX4 package. Does the FX4 package make a difference or not in the Ranger? Appreciate any advice and thoughts on what everyone's opinion is about both the engine and build configuration.
