Might buy a 2025 ranger, does "hands on wheel" alert turn off?

I've not heard one single failure of starters on the rangers...5g or 6g. Not that it hasn't happened. Start/stop bugged me at first, but I got used it and it's a "whatever" think for me. I actually find it annoying when it DOESN'T activate when it's supposed to. Usually due to battery charging, which it seems to take forever to complete. (Have gone a couple months in charging state, probably need to have the battery load tested).

I've had the "hands" message on rare occasion, whatever. Though I HATE the lane centering. It centers you....you don't need much if any input, and it complains. Makes this feature useless to me. I won't jiggle the wheel intentionally and constantly just to satisfy it. Ridicules.

Lane keep assist will remain off. Will come on if adaptive cruise is engaged. I don't mind lane keep in this truck. Not very intrusive, like it was on the last gen Ranger.

I've never had the truck give me any warning regarding swerving or swaying, on or off road.

I don't like nannies either. This truck doesn't bother me with anything outside the hands message once in awhile. The lane keep, rarely, annoys me as it "fights" me a bit. Something I can live with.

Very happy with my '25 Lariat 2.7, and I consider myself on the picky side of things when it comes to nannies.

i am fairly certain this warning is only available on the Ranger Raptor. I have had my XLT for almost a year now and all the warnings turned on and have never had this pop up.

Yea I think the lane warning thing is different from the lane centering assist used with ACC that functions as the Temu BlueCruise you have at home. The assist actually does the wheel check and steers the vehicle itself. The aid/alert thing when turned on either nudges or vibrates the wheel when you drive over a lane edge without signalling. I think I must have turned that alert function off entirely. I only have the centering thing on if I put on ACC for road trips.

The only time in 15k I have gotten the warning is when I tested the lane centering function and took my hands of the wheel to see what it would do.
I'm not a heavy both hands on the wheel driver. Sometimes it's the wrist on top on the wheel in long stretches.
