Minimum Recommended Skid Armor

Hello fellow mud slingers,
Looking for guidance on what components should I ABSOLUTELY at a minimum have off road skid protection for if I plan to do some moderate off roading in my 2024 Ranger Raptor?
my current setup consists of:
- 34” KO3s with the factory lift
-17” Black Rhino Dugger Wheels
-ADD phantom bumper (with attached skid plate)
-RA Ranger Travel Sensor Protectors
-Phat Bars Angled Rock Slider Side Steps (frame mounted)


I’ve done one run recently at Windrock Park in Tennessee and plan to do more.

How does your intercooler get any fresh air?

The bumper has air vents designed for air flow. I’ve had the bumper for about 9 months and haven’t had any issues and haven’t heard of anyone having issues.

Does that 34 rub at all? I'm trying to find a bigger size tire for my oem beadlock capable without rubbing or trimming but willing to remove crash bars.

Going from the +55 offset of the factory wheels to 0 offset (wanted a slightly more aggressive stance) had to do some minimal trimming of the plastic near the bottom of the wheel well and removed the crash bar plate. I could have avoided this possibly had I either done a lift (which I didn’t) or had I done 34” wheels by going taller wall height, but I went 34” wheels by way of wider tires (305/70R17) vs 285 (factory) or 295.

what is the exact size of the KO3? are they the 315/70/17's?

Mine are 305/70R17. Here’s a photo of a tire size calculator showing the comparison. I know some people will bump up to 34” tires via a 295/75R17, but I found the 305/70 keeps the speedometer closer to the factory 33” size (285/70R17), and also has less negative effect on gas mpg.

Thanks man! Skid plate is part of from bumper (Addictive Desert Designs phantom bumper. The skid bars are Phat Bars AU angled rock sliders). The window flag decals I found on amazon (https://a.co/d/24wO7Ug)
