Just wanted to share my amazing Ford Ranger ownership journey the last few months:

February - I took the truck in to investigate a whistling noise audible when the HVAC was turned on at any fan speed. Found to be a warped HVAC box. Dealer removed and replaced, in the shop for a total of 10 days

June - Took the truck in to look at a ticking/rattling noise when I started the engine, along with transmission issues (truck lost power in an intersection). Transmission issues weren’t able to be replicated, however they did identify a cam phaser issue. They replaced the cam phasers. Total of 11 days in the shop. When I picked up the truck from the dealer, I observed the side edge of my door was opened into a wall, causing nearly half of the side of the door to be chipped/scratched down to the metal. Dealer accepted responsibility, and I took it back a few days later.

July - Returned the truck for body work. When I received it back, the body shop who did the work did a sloppy job. Didn’t properly blend, just tried to paint the edge. Even forgot to paint the bottom corner, that was still chipped. I returned the truck a few days later, and they took it to a different shop. Truck was ready to go, but when it was sitting in the service drive, the advisor noticed oil leaking. They believe it’s due to silicone failing from the previous cam phaser repair. So after 17 days at a variety of body shops, it’s now back in service for more repairs.

At least I’m getting to know my advisor pretty well, right? šŸ˜…

My plan is to open a case with Ford once this round of repairs is complete
In my experience Ford corporate only listens to attorneys. Depending on what state you are in the Lemon Law attorney is paid by Ford.

If you meet the requirements of your state the Lemon Law process is black and white. I had to Lemon Law an F250 King Ranch about 10 years ago because of a poorly machined block and non-stop oil leaks on the 6.0 diesel. Dealing with the liars at Ford and the dealership was a non-stop circle jerk of lies and stonewalling.

Once I reached out to the Lemon Law Attorney Ford suddenly changed their tune but I let the lemon law process play out because Ford can't be trusted.

They ended up having to buy the truck back and paid me every penny of the price I purchased it for. I paid nothing, never had to go to any court hearings or anything. The attorney handled it all. Ford's reputation for reliability is even worse now than it was then I bet the process is even easier now.

As someone that dealt with Ford corporate previously related to a botched airbag recall on my Maverick that could have killed me or my front passenger, I can tell you they're worthless.
