New Hampshire Oil Undercoating

New Englanders: Has anyone had their Ranger sprayed? I had the treatment done on my previous truck (2019 F-350) and was very happy with result. Not a spot of rust on the frame after 5 years (truck was idol often; only 20k miles and coating was reapplied once; never garaged tho). I am more concerned about my 2024 Ranger body [and frame] because it’s steel unlike the 350’s aluminum body. I bought my 2024 G6 pre-owned with only 13.5k miles and plan to have it coated ASAP.

I got mine coated with NH Oil last summer. So far so good! Just make sure that you wait to apply it until you have done any underbody mods/upgrades/work since its nasty stuff and gets all over the place. Smelled some of it burning off for the first week or so, but nothing after that.

Sounds like a similar product to FluidFilm. If so I agree with ^, just a mess to do any work under the truck after it's installed and smelled like a sheep farm for a few days after install as well. But worth it when you see the results of everything being protected. Guess now I'll have to take my skid plates off in addition to the spare tire if I want to get everything coated well.

Yes competing product. Fluid Film is lanolin based - a byproduct of sheep wool (hence the farm smell). NHOU is mineral oil based. They have an option to add mint extract to deter mice. The smell wears away fairly quickly…. I assume as does the efficacy.

Good suggestion!! I may add the j-braces fix kit to increase the bed rail capacity so I can add a bed rack for kayaks. I bought the kit, but have not installed yet - as I am still debating the rack.

The installer told me it should last 3-4 years and then require reapplication (not as thorough as the original application). Too early to tell if that was accurate or not, but its still on there for now.

I’m a believer in the lanolin sprays like wool wax, fluid film, or surface shield. I recently switched to surface shield just because it doesn’t smell as much as the others I mentioned. I touch it up annually when I mount my snow tires. Cheap, easy, very effective.
