New Ranger, I’m back in a truck

Picked up my 24 Ranger XLT 1-11-2025. I traded in my 2017 Ford Fusion Sport. I really loved that car but I originally got it to be my daily driver as my 2014 Mustang GT is my money pit/never ending project/weekend car. Unfortunately the FFS became project #2. Plus I really missed having a truck. I was really
poking at a Maverick but when the 24 Ranger came out I really like the looks and was sold. It’s my new daily and I’m loving it. Put about 1400 miles on it so far and get between 21-22 mpg overall, very similar to the FFS. I know I will do some modding to it because it’s how I am, but nothing crazy. So far just Weathertech mats front and rear, soft tri-fold tonneau, and Ford rubber bed mat(used Ford Pass reward for that and got it for $11). Also got mirror mount for radar/camera. Only thing I plan on soon is receiver hitch. Looks like there’s lots of info here, so glad i found y’all and howdy. Oh and I removed the running boards that came on it. They just didn’t work for me. May get some powered ones later.

Welcome! I just got my 2024 two weeks ago. I traded in my Silverado to try a mid-size. My last Ranger was a 1994 Mazda! I always loved that truck, so I decided to go with Ford again. I recommend having it inspected by Ford to see if it needs the J braces. Ford just put those on for me this week at no cost. Not all 2024s need them, but mine did.

My mileage has been worse than my Silverado. I'm more like 17 mpg, which sucks. That is a combined freeway and city. I did take it up to the local San Diego County mountains to see how it drives in the weather. Overall, I love the looks and the way it drives.

Yes that's a little low which engine. I have the 2.3 and I getting a combine 25mpg.

2.3 engine. I may bring it in to Ford to check on it.

That seems super low. My combined is 21 and i am actually almost all city and waiting in the line to get in the navy base each morning. 2.3 also

Same engine. 2.3. I'm going to be a bit more deliberate about driving habits and also do a highway test at listed speed limits.

and you can see my fuelly is showing 20.1 so its gone down now that spring break is here and summer winds are here. 20-40 mph winds really effect your mileage
