I recently picked up a new 2024 Ranger XLT FX4 with the 2.7 v6. I’ve noticed when driving with the windows down and past something for sound to echo off of - I hear what I can best describe as a ticking or ratcheting sound while accelerating. It seems to change in frequency in proportion to speed/rpm. Seems to drive great, no clunking or overly weird shifting - although one can seem to tell the transmission is still learning - I’m only up to about 350 miles. It’s also not loud enough to hear with the windows up at all. It’s doesn’t necessarily sound bad - but I’m just wondering if anyone else has recognized a similar sound and confirm that’s normal. Thanks all!

not in my ranger.

my son's wrangler does it because we took his transmission apart about 10 times one week trying to get reverse to start working again and we put one part in backward so the parking pawl is not sitting right and makes that same ratcheting noise when backing up (and by backing up, i mean when we are pushing it backwards. he has to park in pull through spots anytime he drives that ol jeep)

I've heard something similar on mine. I'm attributing it to the direct injection though.
