New Softopper Installed

Just checked mine - seems like I'm pretty much right where you're at. It felt like it needed to be brought towards the cab a bit more, but I suppose that's just where it's supposed to be.

It's easy enough to move.
If you go farther forward the top might not lay flat on the front of the bed when collapsed.

I’ve been juggling the thought of picking up a Honda CRF300F, so I’ll need to make sure it folds down to transport in the bed. I wasn’t able to get any direct feedback of anyone folding a Softopper and transporting a dirtbike in a Ranger, but lots have on other platforms. Here’s hoping!

I purchased a zipper boot cover for mine from softopper when they were on sale. Works great. Just wish they had color options. They are black boot covers.
You shouldn't have any issues with the bike.
Push comes to shove just unclip the topper and tie it in next to the bike.

Took some photos of how I have it set up. When I folded the topper forward i wasn't sure how to make it look all nice and neat but it still wasn't hitting the back of the cab.
