Hey guys! I've driven Subarus for the last 16 years and am finally making a major change: buying a truck, and a 2026 Ford Ranger at that!

Super excited to get one and be in this forum! I do have a few questions/discussions though, and am wondering if I should make posts for each or if any of you have fast answers? Thanks for reading!

1. Anyone have any insight on maintenance schedule? Looking at the owner's manual, it really isn't calling for much, and what it does call for seems like it is at a high mileage. Are any of you doing more frequent transmission and diff fluid changes? I know in the Subaru world, the CVT Fluid is considered lifetime but many of us were changing it every 50k miles or so.

2. Going off of maintenance, any guides out there on how to do a transmission fluid change?

3. How is the oil change with the plastic oil pan? Are you guys actually changing the plastic oil plug each change? Does anyone make a Fumoto-like valve for these?

4. Does anyone have access to a PDF Ford OEM service manual?

5. I'll be looking at hard rolling tonneau covers soon and curious if there is a go-to, recommended brand/model for our Rangers

That's all I got for now! Thanks yall!

I’m doing 5k oil change intervals as I do on all my vehicles. There a lot of owners doing the same. And yes a company called Ronin makes an oil drain valve.

There are threads on the transmission fluid change on ranger5G and bronco forums. Seems buying an aftermarket oil pan with a drain plug is popular. I think I'm just going to suck the 5 quarts out the fill port on the side of the trans with a transfer pump at 30K then pump it out and lower the pan an change the filter at 60K
