My 24 RR with 300 miles on it develops a mechanical whirling / light clicking noise when hot near idle. You can hear it change pitch with RPM. Gear doesn’t matter, but it sounds like it’s something in the input side of the transmission. I’ve had three other 10 speed automatic vehicles using this design. It’s not the pump gear whine. Is this normal or is something up? Its easy to hear inside of the truck when hot and no audio on.

Update. It’s coming from the AC compressor.

Could be low diff oil? It was an issue here in Aus for a few sold very early on in 2022. Here's a video of it from CarExpert which happened to his personal Ranger Raptor. Had low diff oil from factory - dealership ended up replacing diff as a result:

Not the diff. It does it when stopped. Sometimes it louder than other times. It reminds me of a torque converter cover rubbing.

I figured it out. It’s not the transmission. It’s the AC compressor. Doesn’t sound quite right.

I have the same sound on my 24 Lariat. I noticed it the first week I had the truck. I've had it back to the dealership. they had it four days and claim they can't replicate the sound. I picked back up on Friday afternoon and started to work. I stopped at a traffic light and the noise was still there. It has to be AC related. I can sit idling and hear it over the radio when I'm listening to talk radio. When I turn the AC off and leave the fan on the noise instantly goes away. When I turn AC back on noise instantly comes back. I've started a customer complaint with Ford. They are supposed to be in touch with the dealership to correct the problem. I let them know up front that if they can't rectify the problem then I don't want the truck. It's very irritating when sitting still.

Yeah. Sounds like what I’m hearing. It’s loud enough to hear it over the radio at modest volume levels.
