Looking for ideas and write ups for those who have added electrical circuits to their Rangers. Maybe a small underhood fuse box or similar. I'm planning an ARB compressor and a 12 volt outlet in the bed and looking for ideas on a clean way to do that and without interfering with the battery monitoring system.

Is there any upfitter or body builder info available for Rangers?

Lots of possibilities and certainly depends on what you want to power in the truck bed.

Deep cycle battery, inverter, and a solar panel with charge controller can be installed in the bed and independent of the Ranger. Or, just get one of those all in one power supply units.

Three vehicles ago, my F150, I built a portable three piece power supply as described. Went to the subsequent Tacoma, and now it's in/on the Jeep. Will go to the RR when the time comes.

With the Jeep, the inverter is out of the box and mounted under a storage rack facing the rear swing gate.

The 12V load in the bed will only be occasional and it will be a 12V cooler that draws 5 amps max if the voltage is maintained at 12V minimum. I will run #8 to it for voltage drop considerations. Yes I have a 100ah LiFeP04 battery that I can use when parked for extended periods but I want to use alternator power when driving to save the Li. The use scenario will not be regular enough to warrant a solar setup. In my Superduty I ran it off #6 wires because the circuit was around 30 feet. When parked I just shut the cooler off and it stayed cold for several hours. Any longer I can also plug it into 120V at a hotel etc.

The ARB will be a single that maxes out at 32 amps. I will also run #8s to that as the circuit will be much shorter as I am planning to put the ARB under the hood. Currently running an ARB single on my Jeep with #8s and a 40 amp fuse so will do that on the ranger as well.

I don't have my Ranger yet so just looking for ideas on how to tap into battery power.

Auxbeam and a couple of others make adding accessories simple.
Love my Auxbeam switch panel.
One wire comes into the cab, every thing else is under hood.
