This might be more of a rant than anything, but it needs to be said.
for most of this winter I have had parking sensor activations from the right front. Whether clean, dirty, or otherwise, they would activate when noting was around.
Annoying for the most part, even more annoying is trying to toggle the off switch on the screen to stop the warnings. it never stays on long enouch to reach it and activate it.
Anyways, I finally told my dealership at my last oil change, explained its not because they are dirty from time to time, its all the time.
they ran some test, agreed they were faulty and told me they would order new under warranty.
FFW a few weeks, get an email, they (higher up warranty peeps) need pics of the odometer, the sensors and the truck. Likely to verify they werent smashed in from a snow bank.
Anyways, supplied and accepted and they call later to book me in.
They picked it up monday, and i was expecting it back that night. close to 5pm I call and say "uh, where's me truck? I dont see it in my driveway"
They tell me they goofed and two of the sensors are color matched, they need to paint them and have the truck for another day.
OK fine. I like driving the '17 focus, I can do that another day. No biggie.
Next day they drop it off at 530pm and we head out for dinner. My first stop down the road....you guessed it, warnings activated.
I shoot off an angry email and the service advisor responds the next day.
"oops, I forgot to tell you..." (why the driver who dropped it off said nothing either) " we ordered the wrong sensors, they dont fit. we need to order again. will let you know when we receive them and paint them, then you can bring it back"
WTF people. this isnt that hard is it?
