Yeah, I saw that and the wheels. Looks like I am relocating to Charlotte NC and once I get settled I think wheels will be next. I'm still interested in the 3.2's but I want them on the market for a while before I pull the trigger. I like the Live Valves a lot.

What is the purpose of upgrading to the King shocks that aren't live valves over the 2.5's or 3.2's? I have zero issues with King shocks as they make great shocks, but unless your increasing travel, I don't get it.

If you go with a softer damping rate that isn't variable, you lose bottom out control for harder landings and that's going to impact your speed. The damping rates of the 2.5's are very well tuned for high speed running.

And please don't say the Fox 2.5's overheat because you must be pushing them harder than the RR Race truck at Finke or the 800 mile Baja run....they commented on how cool the 2.5's ran in actual racing, and they weren't getting hot at all. All the additional cooling on the race trucks for the powertrain (front and rear diffs and transmission).

Is it adjustable ride height, are they longer travel via more droop?

According to king they do increase the travel. They do have adjustable ride height. And other than that I was tired of waiting on shocks I paid for last December. Also the 3.2’s have a history of issues and the customer service when you have said issues is terrible.

Id be curious to see how they do in hard landings compared to the variable damping of the 2.5s. The Fix Live valves can change dynamic damping from 300lbs all the way up to 700 lbs through active valuing. Thats hard to beat! But travel is also king (pun intended), but it all depends on how much travel vs the loss in damping rates. Although you also pair the Kings with hydraulic jounce for that ultimate bottom out control.

I have a feeling the Kings will be better in some use cases and worse in others. Softer damping is going to be smoother over rpugh terrain, but on jumps higher damping is FTW! I like air time so Im personally willing to suffer bumpier off roading for that impact control under hard landings.

Everyone that has put Kings on has preferred them 100% over the factory Fox shocks. Live valve is cool but I don’t think it’s necessarily the end all be all especially when they have a history of failing (3.2s). To each their own I just couldn’t wait on the FRS anymore and the Kings will be really good.
