Had a question re RR bedights. My 2 bed lights as well as the upper cargo light all come on fine when the inside switch is pushed. However, only the upper cargo light comes on when doors are opened, even tho the manual seems to indicate that the bed lights should also come on when a door is opened. Does anyone have insight into this?

Mine works the same way.

Same, only the upper light comes on when the doors are initially opened.

You have to press the bed light switch, for them to come on before you get in of the cab with the ignition off.

Ignition on, they will come on with the switch pressed.???

Has anyone figured out a way to set this up so that they come on when you unlock the vehicle or open the tailgate? Maybe via FORscan?

The smart way to have made the bed lights useful would be to come on when tailgate opened paired with a photocell and have ability to turn on with unlock in settings as an option.

Got to playing around with the infotainment menu; The exterior lighting including the beds lights, will come on if they’re set to in the infotainment menu to do so. When you walk up and unlock or lock the doors with the FOB. Found this out just a little while ago.???

Can you elaborate?? I just went thru ever single option on sync4 screen and couldnt find anything referencing the bed lights other than turning on the zone lighting... no options in the unlock menu either

Same issue for me. I couldn't find anything referencing them either.

Picture 1 below shows the only screen referencing lights. Picture 2 below shows the digital owners manual says "the pickup bed lights turn on when opening any door". Definitely not the case! The cargo light on the top of the cab does, but not the bed lamps.

Hey Hobb, did you ever get a chance to take pictures of that setting?

Did you end up figuring this out? I would love for my lights to turn on with the doors.

Yeah I just went through every setting in the infotainment system and there’s no mention of bed lights. Sucks because it seems like such an easy thing for Ford to program.
