Always been a car guy but never owned a truck. My raptor showed up today. I am currently trying to find a set of 20” wheels. Next week I’ll install a JL stereo, ford tuner, and order at least an intercooler. Originally looked at F150 Raptors but think I’ll ease into the truck world. Currently own a Bronco.

No but probably should. From pictures I've seen I think the 20s look much better than the smaller wheels. My biggest regret with my bronco was only getting 17s. For the size of the vehicle I think it looks better.

17in wheels serve a purpose on the RR - it’s not about looks. Each to their own, but a 17in wheel will always be better for offroad performance

I don’t have any interest in off roading so I’m more concerned with looks.

I don't either. Off roading accelerates wear and is notna good way to build something that sees most of its life on the pavement. Tires are expensive to just go off road once a month for a day. Might as well make your vehicle pwrfoem whete it spends 95% of its life

Totally understand this. But to buy a Raptor which is designed and engineered to be used offroad, but then have zero interest in taking it offroad seems strange to me. Most of the tech and parts (which means money you’re paying over a regular Ranger) on the Raptor is best enjoyed when offroad. Seems like a waste and you’ll never experience what the Raptor is truely capable of when just doing street 0-60 pulls.

Just buy a regular 2.7 ranger and throw the performance tune on. At least then you’ll have a capable road truck (tow/haul and plenty fast)

Each to their own, but it makes me sad to think this Raptor will never be enjoyed doing what it was designed to do… on 20in wheels with street tyres ☹

not that i agree with it but, i have a friend that is buying a RR just because she likes the “cool orange highlights” in the interior. It also will not be used remotely close to its intent. The most offroad it may see is going to a deer lease. I also tried to convince her to get a Lariat instead so she would have better towing and cargo capacity but she’s in love with that interior. ?‍♂

I picked up my Ranger today and dropped it off for the wheel install. They are charging me $500 to level/lift the front. Is that about right, seemed high to me?

I’d say thats a decent deal. Mechanic labor can run about $100/hr more or less and a 10-30% markup on parts. Are they also doing alignment?
