The running boards that come on the RR's would be great if they were half as wide as they actually are. They are mounted up high and tight against the body to provide maximum clearance but because they are mounted so high they're both too high as well as wide for any benefit. If you actually use them to get in they put you up so high you'll nearly get a nose bleed getting in/out of the cab and they are so wide they stick out so far they catch your lower leg getting out.

I now have two brand new sets I'd love to sell someone for a great price.

If I thought there was a way I could cut them in half length way remount the brackets I'd do it in a flash and put them back on because they do provide a certain amount of added protection and these things need all the help they can get because the paint is shit on these and microscopic paper thin and they rock chip to bare metal unbelievably easy. If you so much as sneeze on the paint you'll damn near have a down to bare metal spot.
Why don’t you give us your honest opinion on them?

Architect... over 40 years. Not retired.... 'cause I haven't gotten tired for the 1st time yet!
I had factory power steps on my 2018 F150 Lariat SE. I liked them so much I put Amp Research power steps on my 2023 Rebel. Both dropped about 1/2 way to the ground making them extremely effective. Then retract up and give the truck a nice clean look.

My wife is 5’ also. She liked them.
I had dealer install AMP power steps on my new 2026 Lariat 2.7L 4X4. They came with my previous 2021 F150 Platinum & we liked them (especially my 5'-1" wifeđź’śthem!)
The AMPs work great... good width & height above ground & really tucked up tight when not extended.
But a noticeable thump when retracted. Otherwise awesome steps.

My Ranger came with running boards. I don't like them as they are too low and too narrow, unlike F-250SD trucks we have at work. I find them rather obnoxious. Obnoxious, when have to swing door open to use running board to ingress. Some parking stalls are narrow allowing you only partially open the door. It that instance, running board is completely useless. When running boards are wet, and I try to egress, I've found myself slipping off of running board as it is not wide enough to get good footing.
When I ingress, I grab A-pillar and lift myself over the seat. And running board forces me to swing wide, which causes me undue discomfort. I've been using A-pilar ingress/egress technique since I started driving in the 90's.
I'm going to remove them, and either cut up existing running board brackets to DIY rock sliders or get some after market.
