EDIT - I found a solution that seems to work. I wanted only a cover for the seat bottom to help fill in the narrow space between the side cushions. So far so good with these. I put an old dining room place mat (cotton one) underneath because it fits perfectly between the side cushions and from front to back. So far, I'm liking. Not perfect, but these seats never will be. We're taking a camping trip this week (including some off-roading) and that 2-3 hours of driving will be a good test.

A good number of people here find the XLT seats to be uncomfortable. I am in that camp - I can hardly stand it anymore!

I've tried various configurations with towels to fill some of the gap between the side bolsters and the "hole" where the back meets the bottom. Towels are annoying.

What seat pads/covers have you found make the seats more comfortable?

Thanks.

I’m right there with ya. I’ve bought several cushions but nothing good yet. Hate the seat after about 10 minutes driving. Hopefully there’s a solution better than a different truck

I'm not having any trouble with the seats . I find them comfortable even after driving 4 hours. I have the electric adjustable seats.

Glad for you. I also have the electric adjustable seats and they're horrible for me. Others have posted similar here. Everybody is different.

that is how i am with toyota seats. to me, their seats feel too short in the thigh area so i feel like my legs are just on the edge of the seat the whole time. and then their truck seats are so low to the floor that my legs are straight out and i get antsy on drives and have to move around alot

Not that it matters since you have your Ranger and I assume you're happy with it, but Toyota solved those problems with the new Tacoma. The seats are higher and deeper. I thought they were pretty comfy (but the Taco has other issues, including being pretty ugly IMO and too pricey).

Same camp here. None of the threads about this seem to go anywhere, but I had an f150 (2024 sxt trim fx4) and dearly miss the coyote and the seats. Those base trim, clutch, unheated seats were just amazingly comfortable. Great support. I’m wondering if it would be possible to swap in a bronco or f150 recaro, or even those base model f150 seats, and have them

a: fit the existing seat rails (likely wishful thinking but the bronco is at least the same chassis as the Ranger) and

b: have the wiring be plug and play for the airbag. Should be the same type, but you never know with ford and suppliers for things. Maybe buy a used beat up base f150 seat and see what happens.

The stx/xl seats are great. Maybe you guys should test sit the base cloth seats in the stx trucks?
