I don't understand the QC thing. My truck is bult, so if there is a quality control issue how will they fix it?
it's like all-terrain-nation said, the factory has to go so many days without a QC issue. since this is a first model, maybe that's a longer period than normal...or maybe there have been some QC issues and they are playing it safe.

does that mean the trucks that are built might have issues that won't get fixed till they get to the dealer?

I think the idea is they can fix them prior to shipping them to a dealer or verify if these trucks have the same problem, that's why they are held there.

It gets more expensive for Ford if they need to fix it after-the-fact (shipping parts to dealers, disseminating tech bulletins, buyer dissatisfaction etc). It may seem counterintuitive, but it's better PR if they fix the issues and make us wait initially, rather than let us pay $50k and then spend days/weeks getting QC issues repaired.

i've been going back and forth on if i should call my dealer, but i know he probably has just as much info as i do and i know how much the bronco people drove them insane during 2020-2021 lol.
Doesn’t hurt to ask but I don’t know if they will have any other information other than what we get from ford chat. My dealer just sees “pending update” in his system. He was confused as to why it’s not shipping yet. I don’t even think he knows there is a Ford press event in March.

This seems more likely as to why they are holding them. Not because of a press event.

Ford chat confirmed my delivery dates of 2/10 - 2/15, in agreement with what the dealership told me....what do you all think?
Hope it's true. Will give me hope that my ETA of 2/22-2/28 is accurate.

Ford chat today told me my "estimated delivery date was between Jan 28 - Feb 03"...so yeah I wouldn't put any faith in the delivery dates that Ford chat or your dealer are telling you.

If the tracker website isn't updating to 'built' and 'shipped', that estimated date means nothing.

Ford chat told me yesterday my truck was in ramp gfx, "ground effects" which is the company that does the stickers, spray in liner (which mine has), and other accessories ordered from the factory. Mine still shows in production because it has not made it through their company. Original ETA was Feb27-March 4, and now March 8-14. Now I know why it's still in production on the tracker for weeks.

AHA, thank you FISH...I found them, these are the guys doing my bedliner too I guess. Looks like a regular production line...although they have to run them over to CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Passport please!
Ground Effects (gfxltd.com)

EDIT: I see they have facilities in the US also, makes sense not to ship across the border if possible.

Thanks for sharing! What was your production date?

Quality Issue
I received a call from my dealer today telling me his Rep stated... The Rangers have a quality issue with the truck bed. They have a fix and to expect delivery at the end of February or beginning of March. My XLT was assembled January 8.

My dealer also called me today. He said Ford is tired of releasing vehicles with QC issues so they are not releasing any trucks until every truck is good to go. He said end of March is when he expects them to ship. My production date was 1/22.
